Each year during the fall, the IRC partners with Drew University to host a afterschool youth mentoring program for High School aged youth. During this program, students will be mentored by college students who attend Drew University, and learn about necessary skills like applying to college, acclimating to college life, resume building, interviewing for jobs, and gaining knowledge about the workforce. This program serves to empower students to confidently make informed decisions about their post graduate education or career.
If your child or children would like to participate in the next cohort of youth mentoring, please complete and submit the form below.
Throughout the year, the IRC partners with One World One Love to organize community service events for high school aged youth. To help mitigate feelings of exclusion and otherness, we bring together teens with refugee backgrounds and US born teens to work as equals to serve the community we all call home. During these events, the teens can form friendships, engage in authentic cross-cultural exchange, and foster inclusion while serving their community. Community Service is also a requirement for NJ High schools. Participating in this program will allow your child/children to fulfill their school requirements.
